Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide consisting of the first 29 amino acids of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), which in its full form contains 44 amino acids. It was first synthesized in the 1980s and is sometimes referred to as GRF(1-29)NH₂, indicating that it corresponds to the first 29 residues of growth hormone-releasing factor with an amidated C-terminus.

The 29-amino-acid fragment represents the shortest sequence of GHRH that retains the complete receptor-binding sequence of GHRH.
